"May"hem

It seems as though May has gone by in a flash! Christopher had a birthday, we've had "end of the year" programs at school, we went to Hawaii, my mom has been here visiting, and now it's practically June! First things first:

Chris turned 15. Here are some of his stats.
Height: 5' 11 and a half
Weight: 170
Girlfriend: Taylor Swift (she just doesn't know it yet)

We have gone to Lauren's band concert, and we went to see her get an award for her performance in the "solo olympics." She had to play an oboe solo in front of three judges, and they then rate the musicians. She received a " Superior" rating.
Rebecca had Sr. Awards night, but she didn't plan on going, so we didn't. She has however, received one grant that I know of.

Lex received the award for "Junior of the Year" at the Student Council banquet tonight. Sorry no pics, but it was just for the kids. She is the student body historian next year though, so I will get to see lots of pictures in the future! ( :

Phillip and I went to Hawaii for 9 glorious days! We spent the first week in Maui, where we enjoyed lots of lazy days. We snorkeled, slept in, he golfed, we shopped a bit, and relaxed! We went to Oahu for a couple of days, to visit Pearl Harbor. What a wonderful experience. It seemed especially poignant to be there during Memorial Day weekend. It was just awesome! We also happened to spend our anniversary there. 19 years, if you can believe. We're kind of a big deal, ha ha! It seems as if summer is here, and as usual it is going to be busy. Girls camp, EFY, squeezing in a trip to California if we can, and trying to finish up projects. Whew! I can't wait to see what's ahead.

p.s. I'll post pics of Christopher's b*day when I find the other memory card to the camera. ( :

Happy Mother's Day to YOU!

Happy Mother's Day to you!

As I think about the reason we celebrate today, I wish to celebrate you!
I am so grateful to be a mom. It is truly one of my lifes greatest blessings. I also know that without so many others to help me along the way, it would not be nearly as successful.
I celebrate my friends with "mother hearts," who have shown love to my children, and have uplifted them. I celebrate my friends whose hearts are grieving for their children who are now their angel children. You give me perspective. I celebrate the many teachers who have loved and inspired my children. Your influence is felt far beyond the time you shared with my children. I celebrate my son in law whose own mother is now mothering my daughter. I am so grateful that our families will grow together. I celebrate my sisters and sisters in law for always being back up's whenever I needed them. Whether it was an extra pair of eyes at the pool, or a refuge from lifes difficulties, I love them. I celebrate my mother in law, for loving me as her own. And of course, I want to wish my own mother a Happy Mother's Day. I love her, and hope that we have many more to celebrate. Happy Mother's Day to you!

Random Happenings

So you know how when the kids run out of "t.p." in their bathroom they just go and raid yours?
Lauren ran out, and got the last roll from our bathroom. I told her to go get some more for
both of our bathrooms and she did. This is what my bathroom looks like now.
Last Friday, Phillip and I went to see "LOVE" at the MGM Mirage. It was a great show!
I have been missing Rebecca alot this week. It is strange to have her graduating, and not taking her for Senior pictures, dress shopping for Prom, knowing which scholarships or grants she received if any, etc. It's not a bad thing really, just a reality I didn't expect. On the flipside, I didn't expect to have a wedding celebration for her either, which was alot of fun, OR get a son in law that I adore. So I guess as the saying goes, "Come What May and Love It." Finally in the randomness of this post, I will say that in two short weeks I will be in Maui! Hooray! I cannot wait!
